Roots Run Deep

For brothers Omar and Yunes, the food business has always been a family affair. They grew up learning two things: the value of a hard day’s work and the importance of fresh ingredients. Spending their teenage years behind the counter of their father’s grocery store, they saw firsthand how quality food brings a community together.

In 2011, they turned that passion into a pizza shop in New Hope. But they had a bigger vision. In February 2013, the brothers returned to their roots to open Slim’s—named after Omar’s childhood nickname—on the bustling Brooklyn Boulevard.

Today, they bring that "Busy Boy" work ethic to every meal. While the menu has grown, the mission remains exactly the same: Hard work. Fresh food. Simple as that.
